Opcions magazine is specialized in conscious and sustainable consumption. It is a project with a long history that gives advice to consume less and better. The web is one of the key pieces of the project, since most of the content of the magazine is published online.
In the current editorial context, where traditional newspapers and magazines are in the process of transformation, Opcions needed to create a new site. The new website had to be a change towards a more intuitive, dynamic and adaptable platform for mobile devices. But also represent a paradigm shift towards the publication of more web content and less paper magazines. In addition, we had to take into account key elements for the viability of the project, such as the possibility of inserting advertising, the call to actions to the subscription and leaving open the possibility that users could subscribe online in the future.
Our solution involved doing an intensive content architecture previous work and prototyping together with the Opcions team. Taking into account that the project is restructuring, it was important to focus all efforts on telling the project’s account through web architecture. Once the bases were laid, the web was designed applying the new graphic identity of the magazine and a responsive site has been developed based on the WordPress CMS.
Another important area of the project has been search engine optimization. Given the importance of content in a digital medium, a good initial SEO strategy and training the team on content optimization can make a big difference on search engine optimization.
